RED RIBBON WEEK

We will be having special activities the week of October 28th - November 1st for our Red Ribbon campaign with the objective of uniting communities into action and raising public awareness of alcohol and other illegal drug usage. The goal of Red Ribbon Week at school is to celebrate students making healthy choices. Each day we will have a different theme and some activities throughout the week to show school spirit, allow the kids to have fun, and support this important effort.

UHS Cookbook Fundraiser

UHS is crating a cookbook to be used as a school fundraiser, and we need YOUR help! We will be accepting recipes until October 11 to be added into the cookbook. Please include the students name and grade for each recipe submitted. Please make sure to use the following format for measuring so that recipes can be consistently read and shared for proofing: tsp-teaspoon, TB Tablespoon, C-cup, lb-pound, oz-ounce, pt-pint, gal-gallon, qt-quart.

Once you have picked your favorite recipes you may send in a copy with your student to be picked up by Friday, October 11, or you can email them to Amy Gentry at gentryfam1005@gmail.com or to Ms. Kittrell at Kittrellw1@smithcoedu.net.

BASKETBALL TRY OUTS

Tryouts for grades 4-8 will take place as follows:

August 8th - Girls 4:15 pm - 5:30 pm
August 8th - Boys 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Please provide an up to date physical or have a current one on file.

OPEN GYM

Coach Maggart has created an open gym schedule for ALL ages, Kindergarten through Eighth grade, for the month of June. In July the schedule will be more specifically for each grade level and team. Please see the June Open Gym schedule for dates and times posted on the calendar on this web site.

Schedule will be posted on the front door of the school and on the school's social media.
